Caring for a loved one with Alzheimer’s disease or dementia can be challenging and emotionally draining. As a patient’s disease advances, the burden on the caregiver can feel overwhelming. As a loved one with dementia nears the end stages, caregivers can benefit greatly from additional help and support at a very critical time during their journey.
Tranquility Garden is a special advanced dementia and hospice unit located in the Livingston assisted living community that is dedicated strictly to advanced stage dementia patients and their loved ones. It is a calm and serene home-like environment where families can spend precious quality time with their loved ones along with the added reassurance and support of highly qualified dementia and palliative trained nurses and home health aides. The designated private area is its own section of the assisted living community, tucked behind closed double doors.
Surrounded by peace
The atmosphere of Tranquility Garden is peaceful and welcoming, filled with relaxing aromas to calm the senses. Families and loved ones are invited to gather in a common area, with cozy couches and chairs, a television and bookshelves, where they can reflect or read. A kitchen with a refrigerator and microwave allows guests to store and prepare healthy foods that help them stay nourished and energized during their stay. Coffee, infused water, snacks and other essentials are complimentary.
Relax in comfort
Tranquility Garden rooms are well-equipped to keep residents and loved ones as comfortable as possible. Each hospice room has a kitchenette with a refrigerator and microwave, as well as a private bathroom. In addition to a hospital bed, each room is furnished with a reclining chair for guest overnight stays, a table and chairs, television, essential oils and all of the comforts of home.
A welcome relief
A 3-day qualifying stay is not required and patients can transition directly to the building with 24/7 nursing care available. The cost is well below post-acute private pay respite fees at $275 per day.
