Culinary Program

Feeding your mind, body, and soul

At CareOne, we believe that food should bring joy and sustenance in equal measure — and our culinary program is designed to do just that. Our food caters to our residents’ unique health and dietary needs while also prioritizing taste, presentation, and the overall mealtime experience.

Our Food Philosophy

CareOne’s culinary program philosophy extends beyond satiating our residents – it’s also about bringing nourishment, joy, and connection through mealtimes.

This philosophy ties back to CareOne’s commitment to delivering the highest quality of care to patients, residents, and the communities it serves. Our culinary program strives to create meals that nourish the mind, body, and soul for all our residents, no matter their dietary needs or taste preferences. We are also proud to regularly donate these meals to local organizations like nearby colleges, senior centers, food pantries, firehouses, and police stations.

Refined Cuisine

At CareOne, we endeavor to deliver delicious menus on a daily basis, using high-quality ingredients that our residents will love. Through our Signature Dining Program, our chefs cater to our residents’ specific dietary requirements while also paying strong attention to detail in food presentation.

The culinary team cooks homemade meals with fresh, seasonal, and locally sourced ingredients to ensure each resident receives their proper daily nutrients. Fresh foods, as opposed to frozen meals, have more hydration, healthy fats, and enzymes, which are a critical part of a nutritious diet. Proper nutrition is important, particularly for our seniors, as it keeps energy levels up and helps bodies protect against and recover from different types of illnesses.

With a commitment to providing optimal taste and nutritional value, our culinary program is a testament to our dedication to delivering a truly exceptional dining experience for our seniors.

Restaurant-style Dining

Good food brings people together. Our restaurant-style dining promotes socialization and overall well-being to support our mealtime philosophy of nourishing residents physically, mentally, and emotionally. At CareOne, residents can dine with friends and family in a warm, home-like atmosphere. Some facilities also offer outdoor patio dining for residents to enjoy meals in the sunshine on warmer days.

Food That Fits Your Needs

Special Meals, Just for You

Our culinary team and dieticians work together to create menus that help meet the nutritional goals, dietary restrictions, and taste preferences of every resident. They also involve residents in the meal development process by asking them for input on upcoming menus.

To make mealtime truly special, CareOne goes above and beyond to prepare residents’ favorite dishes on their birthdays and other special occasions so they feel honored, loved, and at home.

Answering Your Dietary Needs

CareOne’s chefs often recreate meals that residents would eat at home, whether they are vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, kosher and/or they have specific cultural customs. For example, CareOne at Teaneck is Glatt Kosher, Cholov Yisroel and Pas Yisroel under the kosher supervision of Star-K.

Our chefs also prepare meat-based dishes to accommodate residents with seafood aversions. Meanwhile, for our vegetarian and vegan residents, our facilities offer “meatless Mondays” and prepare vegetarian and vegan dishes with plant-based proteins to meet resident’s preferences. For our carnivore residents, we prepare high-protein meals featuring prime rib and other USDA-certified meat options. We also cook fresh soups and sauces from scratch.
