What is Orthopedic Rehabilitation?

Orthopedic rehabilitation is medical care that takes place after an operation on the musculoskeletal system, such as the bones, muscles, joints and soft tissue. The goal is to restore natural movement, rebuild strength and return to normal health as quickly as possible.

Patients are initially assessed by a multidisciplinary team which might include physical therapists, occupational therapists, orthopedic surgeons and more. Treatments can include a combination of exercises aimed at improving flexibility, strength and range of motion, as well as manual therapy techniques to alleviate pain and promote healing.
