Bergen County’s First Assisted Living Apartments for Memory Care
The team from Harmony Village at Paramus is specially trained to work with residents living with memory impairments as well as their families to create a personalized care plan that maximizes independence and works toward quality of life enhancement. The specialized team will be led by site administrator Sindy Vaillencourt who will ensure the new facility upholds the highest in healthcare standards.
Harmony Village at Paramus offers next generation assisted living for the memory impaired, offering innovative memory-care programs designed to help residents maintain the highest possible quality of life, as well as optimal cognitive and physical functioning.
Harmony Village will offer 24 hour certified nursing care, on staff dementia specialists, and innovative technology and practices for all residents.
Harmony Village’s accommodations include 124 private apartments and six distinct “neighborhoods” for residents with varying stages of memory impairment, making it the only dedicated assisted living community for the memory impaired in Bergen County.
Meet Our Staff
Sindy Vaillencourt has been hired as the new Executive Director. Sindy graduated from Columbia University with her Masters in Social Work and Bachelors in Psychology. Sindy has dedicated her career to the field of Geriatrics working for 20yrs in Skilled Nursing Facilities. Living locally, she is involved in many organizations and charitable events. With strong family values Sindy is excited to be able to extend her passion for human care to her local community and make your family and extension of hers.
Joan DiPaola joined Harmony Village as the Dementia Care Specialist. Joan is a Registered Nurse with over 38 years of leadership experience in acute care, long term care, adult daycare, and homecare. She was involved in developing and managing a medical adult day program for individuals with memory impairment in Rockleigh, NJ for over 18 years. Her extensive experience working with men and women with various forms of dementia is instrumental in developing strategies and interventions to ensure each resident’s success in their appropriate neighborhoods. Joan is committed to building individualized programs for every resident based on their personal strengths and life story. Joan will be working closely with all residents, families and care staff of Harmony Village at CareOne Paramus.
Betsy joins Harmony Village at CareOne Paramus as Director of Wellness and Resident Services with over a decade of experience at our sister facility Paramus Assisted Living, CareOne at The Cupola. Betsy’s strong passion for helping others developed at a young age when she sought to comfort family members who were sick and continued to grow as she began volunteering at local nursing homes and the Rockland Psychiatric Hospital. These early experiences ultimately led to her decision to pursue a career in nursing. After graduation, Betsy immediately began working at Mountainside Hospital where she grew an impressive resume working as a medical surgical and critical care nurse for ten years. Betsy left Mountainside Hospital to raise her two daughters and care for her mother who was suffering with a serious illness. It was at this time that Betsy realized she could have a more profound impact on those she cared for by developing long-lasting relationships with them. When she returned to work, she accepted a position as a nurse in a long-term care facility, but quickly took on management positions including Assistant Director and Director of Nursing at both long-term care and assisted living facilties. Harmony Village is excited to have someone of Betsy’s experience and tenure with CareOne join our management team.
John Albanese is the Director of Sales and Marketing. John grew up in a large close knit Italian family, living in close proximity to his grandparents, great-aunts and uncles and has always felt great enjoyment and ease spending quality time with the elders in his life. In his early 20’s, he was inspired by a college professor who impressed on him the importance of helping seniors age with dignity and respect and started his career path graduating with a degree in Communications and Gerontology. He has been an active member of the Bergen County eldercare community for over two decades. For 20+ years, John has been guiding and supporting families to make informed decisions on behalf of their loved ones. John’s compassion and experiences make him a reliable resource for both families and healthcare professions alike.
Nancy Frannicola has been hired as the new Business Office Manager of Care One Harmony Village at Paramus. Nancy has well over a decade of experience in an Assisted Living Memory Care Community specializing in Alzheimer’s and dementia. She brings with her a passion for working with families and helping them navigate their loved ones memory care journey. Nancy is an animal lover and lives with her dog Sammie. She spends her spare time with her two children and twin grandsons and also enjoys attending or watching a New York Rangers hockey game.
Susan Ozer, Sales Counselor for Harmony Village Care One, Paramus comes to us with over twelve years’ experience in Sales and Marketing for Assisted Living, Independent Living and Home Care. Her passion is connecting with families that make life changing decisions. Susan treats everyone with the utmost respect and prides herself with her excellent customer service skills. Susan is very excited about Harmony Village and what it has to offer the Community. In her free time, Susan and her husband enjoy the theatre, movies, live music and a multitude of outdoor activities.
Andru “Andy” Roswadowsky joins Harmony Village Paramus as the Director of Housekeeping & Environmental Services with over 20 years of experience. Andy brings years of experience working in hospitals as well as long and long- term care facilities. He is genuinely inspired by CareOne’s dedication to serving those suffering with Alzheimer’s and dementia. As the Director of Housekeeping & Environmental Services, Andy is committed to fulfilling his duties with the care, compassion and professionalism. NJAJCS recently awarded Andy for his commitment to helping others. Dr. Wallace Greene, President of NJAJCS , stated “Andy truly exemplifies the concept of service to the community…and this award is just one sign of our appreciation. Your warmth and passion for your work with the elderly is most impressive. Andy and his wife Wendy live in Emerson with their two sons, Daniel and Jared.
Jullian Yabut is the new Senior Director of Culinary Services for Harmony Village at Paramus. Jullian’s seventeen year career in the healthcare industry and has played many roles, including waiter, dishwasher, dietary aide, and executive chef. With ten years of experience as a Culinary Services Director, Jullian says the most gratifying part of his job is being able to build his own team of talented cooks and challenging them with new endeavors. He is dedicated in providing nutritious, innovative, attractive menu items for those who suffer with Alzheimer’s and dementia. Jullian believes in person-centered care and is committed to working with the families to ensure that the individual resident feels at home and well nourished. His experience throughout his career include long term/post-acute care facilities and assisted living facilities with memory care units. Whether it’s upgrading the appearance of the dining room or working with residents to create delicious options, Jullian and his culinary team are up to the task.
Wilkin Burgos is the new Director of Maintenance at Harmony Village at Paramus. Wilkin brings to the team twelve years of HVAC-R and building maintenance experience. Wilkin decided to bring his experience with commercial and industrial HVAC-R equipment to the healthcare setting to help others and to work with seniors to help brighten their day. Wilkin also has experience with state and federal compliance for building operations in healthcare facilities and puts the resident’s safety in the forefront of his mind with every repair or new installation that is made. The part of his job that Wilkin enjoys the most is being able to make personal connections with the residents while making them comfortable and happy in their environment. Wilkin’s attention to detail and passion for his work enables him to provide stellar customer service for the residents that he cares so much about.
