Caring For Caregivers
November is National Family Caregivers Month. Designated by the Caregiver Action Network, it is a time to celebrate caregivers and recognize their hard work and contributions. Caregivers provide much needed care for family members and loved ones who are unable to care for themselves. Often, caregivers take on these responsibilities in addition to full-time paying jobs and caring for their own families.
Taking on the role of caregiver can be stressful and navigating the complex maze of insurance and health care options is a difficult task. Establishing a support network is important for caregivers as it provides them with the encouragement and help necessary to balance caregiving responsibilities with their every day lives and also contributes to stress reduction. All CareOne centers host regular support groups for caregivers on a wide rage of relevant topics, including managing medical conditions, understanding Medicare and health care options, as well as bereavement and dealing with the loss of a loved one.
