Fenway Park just added another summer concert to its lineup, and this one is for a special cause. On Sunday, July 27, R&B-pop crooner Ne-Yo and pop songstress Natasha Bedingfield will take the stage with a goal of raising $1 million to benefit The CareOne Cancer Fund in Honor of Dan Grimes.
Grimes, a 42-year-old Carver resident and HealthBridge executive, was recently diagnosed with stage IV lung cancer, despite being a lifelong non-smoker. He will receive the fund’s initial grants.

“This fund, named in Dan’s honor, is intended to assist employees and their families who are struggling with similar circumstances to Dan,” Sharon Donaghue, VP of Operations at CareOne, said. “A good portion of the proceeds will go to Dan and his young children, the balance will go to other employees and employees families with similar challenges. The fund will continue to grow with continued contributions.”

Ne-Yo, whose hits include “When You’re Mad” and “Sexy Love,” was happy to sign on for the benefit event.

“What makes us a community is when we come together, when we see someone is suffering, and we take on their struggle together,” Ne-Yo said in a statement. “Fame and fortune are wonderful gifts, but life is the most important gift of all, and I am happy to be part of an event that celebrates Dan’s life and supports him and his family during this difficult time.”
TV personality and former NFL star Michael Strahan will serve as master of ceremonies at the event, which will also include appearances by Bruins announcer Jack Edwards and Red Sox mascot Wally the Green Monster. Attendees will be able to take part in raffles, ballpark tours, and silent auctions.

Tickets are priced at $100 for adults and $20 for children 12 and under and can be purchased on the CareOne website.
