CareOne’s EVP and CNO Share their Thoughts on Nurses Day 2021

To Our Dedicated CareOne Nursing Team,

Each May we celebrate the birthday of the pioneer of modern nursing, Florence Nightingale. From the start of her career, Florence Nightingale was challenged with crisis such as Cholera and the trauma of war. These crisis provided a deep desire to improve care and conditions for her patients. The birth of the modern nurse.

“How very little can be done in the spirit of fear.”

The COVID-19 Pandemic has brought on another chapter in the rich history of nursing and the nursing profession. Our CareOne nursing team stepped forward embodying all that Florence Nightingale envisioned for a profession that certainly was not meant for the faint of heart. Were we humbled by the dedication and strength displayed by our nurses while facing our nations biggest healthcare crisis? ABSOLUTELY. We’re we surprised by the lengths our nurses have gone to fulfill their commitment to their patients? NOT AT ALL. You are CareOne Nurses. You are here because you embodied the spirit of Florence Nightingale by your commitment to excellence. Providing the best healthcare services to our seniors and their loved ones.

During this special week dedicated to honoring nurses everywhere, we take this opportunity to express our deep gratitude for all nurses. You have risked much to care for others. You bring the best of yourself to our residents, patients and CareOne each and every day. For that we thank you!

With much love and respect,

Elizabeth Straus, Executive Vice President

Toya Cornelious , RN, MBA, LNHA, Chief Nursing Officer
