CareOne Selected To Present At CMS Regional Innovation Day
In partnership with the New Jersey Hospital Association, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) hosted a Regional Innovation Day, focusing on the work of organizations participating in the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services Innovation Center models that design and test new care delivery and payment strategies. Ian Oppel, CareOne Senior Vice President of Rehabilitation Services, delivered a presentation on CareOne’s participation in the Bundled Payments For Care Improvement (BPCI) initiative, an effort to facilitate a paradigm shift in healthcare reimbursement from volume to value and quality based care.
Oppel’s presentation shared CareOne’s clinical and operational innovations and strategies for success to support the BPCI initiative, including the primary goals of value-based responsible care, barriers to goal achievement and assessing best practices. “At CareOne, we have provided care for more than 500 BPCI patients since January 2014,” said Oppel. “As a result, we have improved our quality of care and patient outcomes and reduced costs across the healthcare continuum.”
