CareOne at Madison Avenue Provides Safe Haven For Woman Rescued From House Fire

75 year-old Cedar Knolls, NJ resident Patricia Miller was rescued from a fire that caused severe damage to her home last week. She was taken to Morristown Memorial Medical Center to be treated for smoke inhalation. Currently, her home is uninhabitable and many of her belongings were lost in the fire. The hospital is working closely with the Red Cross to find a new place to live for Ms. Miller and her dog, who also survived the fire.

While these logistics are coordinated, CareOne at Madison Avenue opened its doors to provide a safe haven for Ms. Miller during this difficult time. “We truly care about the people in our community,” said CareOne at Madison Avenue Administrator Kristen Compton. “We are happy to be Patricia’s host family and help her through this traumatic experience.”

As New Jersey’s premier health care provider, CareOne offers compassionate care in gracious, professionally managed centers and communities throughout the state. “Caregiving is the cornerstone of our business,” said CareOne Executive Vice President Elizabeth Straus. “When we hear that a local community member is going through a hard time, it’s our natural instinct to provide whatever assistance they need.”

CareOne at Madison Avenue is also collecting household items to help Ms. Miller set up her new home. Donations can be dropped off at the center, located at 151 Madison Avenue, Morristown, NJ 07960.
