CareOne & Twilight Wish Foundation team up to make wishes come true!
After years of being treated to dinner by her brother, Emma Tedeschi wanted to return the favor. Now Emma, a CareOne at Wayne resident, will get to surprise her brother with an all-expense paid dinner at his favorite Italian restaurant, Francesco’s, in Woodland Park, N.J. Emma will also be treated to a manicure, hair styling and new outfit for the special occasion!
All of this was made possible by the Twilight Wish Foundation, a non-profit organization that celebrates older adults through wish-granting celebrations. Family reunions, attending a baseball game and receiving everyday needs like medical equipment are some of the wishes that have been granted.
CareOne centers in Bergen and Passaic counties teamed up to raise donations for the Twilight Wish Foundation in May, and residents were encouraged to submit applications for wishes. Emma’s wish was announced at a recent luncheon recognizing CareOne’s fundraising efforts (including bake sales, raffles, car washes, health fairs and more), which raised a total of $2,500.
Sally Buonomo, the Twilight Wish Foundation’s Northern New Jersey Regional Director, summed up the organization’s mission at the luncheon: “It’s about giving back to seniors who have given their lives to us.” It’s a philosophy CareOne believes in, too.
